Brea

AJ Boncore serves as the Campus Pastor of Saddleback Brea, a role he stepped into in October 2022. AJ and his wife Christy have been married since 2015 and are now raising their two boys, Rion and Jordan, who bring joy, energy, and a sense of adventure to their home.

Born and raised in Northern California, AJ moved to Southern California in 2016 to follow God’s calling into pastoral ministry after he experienced a radical transformation in his life. He graduated from Biola University with a bachelor’s degree in Biblical and Theological Studies and later earned his Master’s degree in Preaching and Pastoral Ministry from Talbot School of Theology.

During his time at Saddleback, AJ has served in a variety of ministries, including leading College Ministry at Saddleback Anaheim and later serving as the Connections Pastor at Saddleback Brea for two and a half years before stepping into the Campus Pastor role.

AJ is passionate about discipleship, small groups, evangelism, and helping people encounter the life-changing grace of Jesus. His heart is to see every person in Brea and North Orange County transformed by the gospel and equipped to live out their God-given purpose.
